Texture - Rug
I chose this picture, because it reminds me of a snake's skin. It also resembles a rough rope feeling, because of the patterns and shapes present as well as individual strands of string. I had to get up very close to get this picture, and the result was very interesting. There are three lairs of carpet here which help to create nice perspective, and the lighting is strong which helps to eluminate the picture itself. Overall I find this picture quite attractive looking.

Navajo Weaving Dress

The Navajo Dress’s silhouette was inspired by Native American Manta rugs and the patterns of the textile was inspired by Navajo weavings. I initially drew up the patterns by hand, which I then scanned into Illustrator, where I rearranged the composition and alignment of the pattern. Then the pattern was printed onto cotton cloth and stitched together and cinched by a rope belt.
